Our Team

Focused exclusively in the state legislative space, Christine Bachman has worked with +135 candidates over the last 4 cycles.  She founded Our States Matter to bridge the gap for Democratic candidates, who often lack the expertise and resources to run effective digital campaigns.  Christine is a Vice President at SBDigital, where she works closely with candidates and caucuses, and collaborates with pollsters and media teams to flip statehouses red to blue.

In 2019, Christine was CEO of CDB Political, serving Virginia House candidates as a caucus-approved digital consultant and working with state legislative partners in North Carolina and Florida to generate off-cycle content for legislators in highly competitive districts.  She also founded Virginia Matters PAC (the predecessor to Our States Matter), which in-kinded film shoots, content, and ad buys to 30 Virginia candidates.  In 2019, these entities combined to produce 52 video ads, helping hold 10 vulnerable incumbent seats, flip 5 more, and create a Democratic trifecta in Virginia.

During the 2018 cycle, Christine served as the Political Director for The People PAC, where she worked with candidates across four states (North Carolina, Arizona, Minnesota, and Florida), co-produced their digital video assets, and implemented a digital distribution pilot project utilizing Catalist’s innovative Peoria Project data. In 2017, she founded Why Virginia Matters to mobilize nationwide resources for candidates in the 2017 Virginia races, helping flip the 15 Virginia seats that set in motion the blue wave of momentum progressives are still riding.

Christine is a 1989 graduate of Johns Hopkins University (B.A. Political Science), and a 1992 graduate of The George Washington University National Law Center.
